7-14-22 The District Board held its election of officers.  Alan Young and Don Borgeson continue in their positions of Chairman and Vice Chairman and Kevin Mutz as Treasurer.  Meetings will continue to be held via online services. The public is invited to attend meetings by registering to participate according to instructions found on the agenda.

6-30-22  Sally Sollars has retired from the District and Christine Breault has been retained as the new Distict Administrator.

9-15-20: The District office has relocated to 3382 Mountain View Blvd, Suite A. Meetings will continue to be held via online services. The public is invited to attend meetings by registering to participate according to instructions found on the agenda.

7-9-20:  The District Board held its election of officers.  Alan Young and Don Borgeson continue in their positions of Chairman and Vice Chairman.  Director Kevin Mutz was elected Treasurer.

4-28-20:  The Village of Angel Fire Council appointed Kevin Mutz to the Board of Directors to replace the vacancy left with Carl Abrams resignation.  Mr. Abrams said that his construction expertise is no longer needed on the Board, but that he could be called upon if a need arose.  Director Mutz has been serving as an ex-officio Board member for over a year.  He will now be a voting Director.  The Council also reappointed Chairman Alan G. Young, Vice Chairman Don A. Borgeson, Treasurer Paul Cassidy, and Director Dan Rakes.  The District is very fortunate to have the volunteer service of these fine gentlemen.

2-18-20: The Office of State Auditor authorized the release of the Fiscal Year 2019 Audit Report. There was on finding that was considered a clerical error and has been resolved. The report may be viewed at the State Auditor’s website.

3-14-19: Kevin Mutz was appointed by the Board of Directors to serve as an Ex-Officio Board Member. As such, Mr. Mutz may attend and participate in all District business, but does not have a vote on Board action items. Mr. Mutz’s financial background is a perfect fit for the Board. We welcome Mr. Mutz, who is the first Ex-Officio to serve. The Board may consider appointing one other Ex-Offico in the future.

11-8-18: The District Board elected Director Paul Cassidy to be Treasurer. In that capacity, Director Cassidy will also serve on the Finance Committee.

9-13-18: The District Board held its election of officers. Alan Young will continue to serve as Chairman. Director Borgeson was elected to serve as Vice Chairman.

8-14-18: The Village of Angel Fire Council appointed Paul Cassidy to fill the vacancy on the Board of Directors. Mr. Cassidy will complete the four year term left by Burl Smith’s departure and will serve until the term expires in 2020. Prior to his retirement in April, Mr. Cassidy provided the District with financial advisement services. He was instrumental in guiding the District’s application for the original construction financing from the New Mexico Finance Authority, and, later, in refinancing those loans at lower rates. We wholeheartedly welcome Mr. Cassidy to our Board. Congratulations and thanks!

1-14-18: The New Mexico Office of the State Auditor released the District’s Fiscal Year 2017 Audit Report today. There were no findings.  The Report may be viewed on the State Auditor’s website.

1-8-18: The District Board is seeking candidates for the Board vacancy left upon Director Burl Smith’s departure from Angel Fire. The five member Board holds monthly Board meetings. Although not required, living in Angel Fire year round is preferable. Anyone interested in joining the Board is encouraged to contact the District Administrator as soon as possible.

7-13-17:  The District Board approved the Fiscal Year 2018 Budget.  Based upon the budget requirements for this year, which are less due to the refinancing of the debt, the 2017 assessments will be 5% less than what was assessed last year.  (See Assessments per Lot)

1-31-17: The New Mexico Office of the State Auditor released the District’s Fiscal Year 2016 Audit Report today. The Report may be viewed on the State Auditor’s website.

12-22-16: The District Board closed on the refinancing of its New Mexico Finance Authority bond backed loans on December 22, 2016. The $19,360,000 loan replaced two existing loans. The interest rate was reduced from 5.031% to a blended rate of 3.069%, which represents a $250K – $300K savings annually in debt service. The Finance Committee will be considering how this will affect the 2017 Special Levy Assessments and will make their recommendations to the Board during the Preliminary Budget discussions in May.

7-14-16: The District Board re-elected Alan Young to serve as Chairman and Dan Rakes to serve as Vice Chairman at their meeting today. We are proud to have them continue their service to the District.

7-5-16:  The District Board released a Memorandum concerning the Responsibility for Electric and Telephone Connections within the Angel Fire Public Improvement District, which is recommended reading for those initiating house plans.  (Responsibility for Electric and Telephone Connections)

6-9-16:  Burl Smith was elected Treasurer of the Board today by the Board of Directors.  Director Smith has the advantage of being a full-time Angel Fire resident over other nominees.  Congratulations and thanks to Burl.

5-24-16: The Angel Fire Village Council appointed Burl Smith to fill the vacancy left on the Board of Directors with the expiration of Director Chuck Verry’s second four year term. Mr. Smith is the Community Development Department Director and a Building Official for the Village of Angel Fire and is a District lot owner. The Board wholeheartedly welcomes Mr. Smith and looks forward to working with him. Director Verry will truly be missed and we thank him for his dedicated 8 years of service to the District and the community. The Council also re-appointed Director Don Borgeson to another four year term. Congratulations to all.

2-11-16:  The New Mexico Office of State Auditor has approved the Fiscal Year 2015 Audit Report for release.  This is the fifth consecutive audit report with no findings.  The Report may be viewed on the State Auditor’s website.

1-12-16: A contract between the Village of Angel Fire and the Public Improvement District was signed today allowing the District to act as Fiscal Agent for a $70,000 allocation of severance tax bond proceeds through the New Mexico Department of Transportation. The Village will pay the District an administrative fee for the services. No District special levies will be used. The Village anticipates using the funds to reseal North Angel Fire Road.

7-9-15: Dan Rakes was re-elected Vice Chairman of the Board at the annual election of officers conducted at the Board Meeting today. Chuck Verry was re-elected Clerk/Treasurer.

6-23-15:  The Angel Fire Village Council appointed Carl Abrams to fill the vacancy on the Board of Directors.  Mr. Abrams is no stranger to the District, having served as the consulting engineer for the construction project on behalf of the District and the Village of Angel Fire.  Mr. Abrams owns a District lot.  His depth of experience will be a huge asset to the Board.  Congratulations and welcome, Carl.

6-11-15: Alan Young was elected Chairman of the Board today by the Board of Directors. Mr. Young has served on the Board of Directors since 2009, participating as Chairman of the Construction Committee and also on the Finance Committee. His depth of skills and calm demeanor make him an excellent choice to carry on where Chairman LeBus left off. Congratulations, Alan.

5-14-15:  Chairman Jim LeBus announced his resignation from the Board of Directors.  Vice Chairman Rakes will assume the chairman’s responsibilities until an new Director can be seated.

5-11-15: Andy Bertges, Fire Chief for the Village of Angel Fire, confirmed that the property insurance rating has improved due to the increase in fire protection coverage in the Village. The new District installed water lines, fire hydrants, and two 100,000 gallon water tanks contributed to the new rating as well as other Village improvements.

1-08-15:  The New Mexico Office of State Auditor has approved the Fiscal Year 2014 Audit Report for release.  This is the fourth consecutive audit report with no findings.

7-23-13:  The Village of Angel Fire accepted Chalets 1A subdivision for maintenance.

11-13-12:  The Village of Angel Fire accepted Chalets 2G subdivision for maintenance.

4-13-12:  The New Mexico Supreme Court dismisses the Glaser, et al complaint. (Supreme Court Decision)

10-25-11:  The Village of Angel Fire accepted Country Club 1B subdivision for maintenance.

9-27-11:  The Village of Angel Fire accepted Chalets Unit 4, Angel Fire Village North, Angel Fire West Village, and Country Club 1 & 2 subdivisions for maintenance.

6-16-11:  The New Mexico Court of Appeals transfers Glaser, et al complaint to Supreme Court. (Court of Appeals Opinion)

11-16-10:  The Village of Angel Fire accepted the first subdivision, Country Club 1A, for maintenance.

8-24-09:  Construction begins.
